Alvin and the Chipmunks was a 1980s update of The Alvin Show which originally aired on NBC and later on Nickelodeon in reruns. It featured both the Chipmunks and the Chipettes. It debuted a few years after the TV special A Chipmunk Christmas.

Film Edit

A film entitled The Chipmunk Adventure was released in 1987 based on the show, and features the Chipmunks and Chipettes traveling around the world after being tricked into illegally transporting jewels and money for a crime boss.

Controversy Edit

  • One episode has a musical segment taking place in an Irish pub. No alcohol is consumed, however.

Trivia Edit

  • One episode featured a segment done to the Chipmunks singing Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood.
  • The theme song mentions "It's been awhile". This was the first Chipmunks show since the Alvin Show in the sixties. The song has been recycled for the revival show which debuted in 2015.
